Travis Birth Story

I am regrettably writing this when Travis is 14 months old but I guess it just goes to say two takes your time away and I wanted to give it adequate coverage versus a picture and two or three sentences so the delay continued to delay.

Travis was a scheduled c-section for 7 am on December 27th. The night before Will, Tyler, Nancy (Nanny) and I went to eat mexican food to I could gourde myself since I knew I wouldnt eat for another day and a half and lets be honest I am grumpy without food but especially after the eating schedule I took on while pregnant. My mom (Grandma) met us at the house and we prepared for the big day.

I honestly barely slept the night before. I was so nervous for meeting the new baby, how Tyler would adjust, how we would all adjust, I had to wake up at 4 am and if I don't what if they cant get me in until after the new year, what was next...

Will and I got there and got changed. We knew what to expect and waited. Will craving coffee but not wanting to have any because I couldn't (so sweet). I started having real contractions and they really hurt but no one seemed concerned because they would do the c-section soon enough - that really hurt!

The nurse addressed the fact that we didn't know the gender but she did and kept referring to TAF as a she and and before we went in Will said - its a girl for sure, but I was still hanging on a boy - neither of us cared happy and healthy was all we wanted.

This time everything happened so fast my spinal was done like a pro Will was by my head and before we knew it they said here comes the baby and he was there just that fast (with Tyler they said that and it was a few more minutes before he was out due to a large head, Tyler cleared the way for Travis). Dr. Cowan said 'baby's here man this baby has a lot of hair' urgh..... we were thinking its a boy or a girl would have been what he said upon pulling him out and then he said 'its a boy!' We were so happy. We were so thrilled to have another boy and seeing him we both said he looks exactly like Tyler - really identical in the first few hours.

8 lbs 6 oz born at 7:36 am  Travis Alan Ferguson

Will went over with Travis and took great care of him while they did the normal stuff. He screamed his little lungs out the entire time and then one of the doctors or nurses said 'man is he a screamer they usually don't scream this long'. Dr Cowan said 'he's fine' and I knew he was.  Then Will walked him over to me and as soon as he was there he was quite, happy, content. He wanted his momma made my heart melt (as if it wasn't already). It was amazing. He was here, happy, healthy and a perfect little boy - we were so happy, thrilled, blessed. What an amazing experience.

And then Nanny took Tyler home and we tried to sleep as much as possible from there and we were further blessed by Grandma coming for four day following our arrival at home.  So grateful for the help, love and family.

Christmas

Luckily for Tyler Santa didn't hold the half eaten plate of cookies against him. He got a trampoline and a firetruck and lots of coloring supplies.
Since we were two days away from our newest little one we stayed in Austin and went out to eat at a Japanese Steakhouse. I had kind of hoped for someone to sing fa rah rah rah to us but it didn't happen.

Christmas Cookies

Nanny, Aunt Molly and the twins came over for lunch and to celebrate Christmas with us. The twins helped Tyler make cookies for Santa.
Then on Christmas Eve when we went to put out milk and cookies for Santa I caught Tyler stealing the cookies!

Christmas with Grandma and Papa

With the newest Ferguson on the way we did Christmas with Grandma and Papa two weeks before. We had most of the family there and it was great to see everyone. We were able to get cousins Piper and Maddie to sit for a picture but taking Tyler away from his toy didnt go over very well. Not sure how we will ever get this kid to participate in a photo again! There is a clock at Grandma and Papas that chimes every hour and Will happened to catch Tyler's expression... so funny.

After that we headed over to Great Grand and Grams and had a great time. Great Gram always has oyster cracker for Tyler and he really likes that.

Santa Brunch

We went to a Santa Brunch. I was excited for the food plus I love brunch and we didnt want to stand in line for an hour at the mall to see Santa.
Will and Tyler rode a train too. Lots of fun!
As you can see Tyler was less than impressed with having his photo with Santa. He did wave bye to him though.

Boy or Girl?????

We didn't find out the gender of our newest additon in advance of the birth. It seemed fun to have the surprise. We didn't have a preference either way just wanted a healthy baby. Everyone thought it was going to be a girl. Will was certain of it even telling me right before we went in for the csection - that based on what the nurse had said he thought it was a girl for sure - she gave it away. I thought it was a girl as well and then at the end of the pregnancy we got a 4D sonogram and when I saw it I thought 'wow that looks like Tyler' and the baby was big which made me think boy and then all kinds of blue clues started showing up. We picked the name Kate for a girl and Travis for a boy. Will named the baby Kavis until we found out.

Tyler Turkey Dance

Tyler's school did a Thanksgiving program for the parents. I was excited to see it - Tyler loves to dance so I figured he would be all about it. I went in and got a good spot and the kids walked out but not Tyler... Finally I see he is laying in the hallway refusing to participate. After the first few songs they drag him into the room and you can see him in the video on the far right sitting on the teachers feet. I like his spunk about half way through the video he starts to get into the song 'I am a Turkey and I Know it' but then gets embarassed I guess and tries to push poor Ms. Luc out into the middle of the room. Oh, Tyler...

Washington DC

We went to Washington DC for our good friend Kevin's wedding. Notice the bump at 32 weeks pregnant this was my last trip but the baby has been to DC - Tyler still hasnt left the great state of Texas in or out of the womb. We are in front of the Capital but Slade doenst know how to take appropriate tourist pictures. Tyler stayed with Nanny and with Grandma and Grandpa. We are lucky to having willing babysitters. He rode the tractor at Grandpa's and now points out any and all tractors. He knows the John Deere green and anything that color with wheels is also called a tractor.

Halloween

For Halloween Tyler was a monkey. We toyed with the idea of having him be Curious George and Will being the Man in the Yellow Hat but tracking down the costume for Will could not be accomplished on Amazon so I had to scrub it. Tyler doesnt get much candy so he didnt really get excited about that part but was very excited to ring door bells and was pretty good about saying Thank You. We sat in our drive way to hand out candy to the other trick or treaters and he kept trying to get into the cars. He was so confused about why we were out there and not going anywhere.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch in Elgin. Although we need the rain its timing was kind of bad for what we had planned that day. We managed to get pumkins and Tyler drove a tractor so it was overall a success. I kept trying to take his picture and he was not that interested in having that done. Close by other kids sat and smiled and were thrilled to have their picture taken while our boy Tyler screamed 'all done' and made the big hand gesture incase we didn't hear him!

2nd Birthday Party

Tyler's second birthday was at our house and was an Elmo theme. He had lots of fun and although I dont have a lot of picutres he had five guests his age - all girls :)He opened his first present - an electric screw driver and refused to open the rest for the most part. He was really excited about the screw driver.

2 Years Old

September 17th Tyler turned 2! Its hard to believe time can go by so fast. Some fun facts about Tyler at this point in his life: He LOVES Elmo, he sleeps with Elmo, asks for him first thing in the morning and brings us the remote and asks for Elmo. His favorite foods are blueberries and cheese and he rarely eats meat. He loves the songs Row Your Boat and Jumprope (by Blue October). He is fascinated by lights and moves his chair all around the house to flip the light switches. He loves to jump and to dance. He still loves the dogs and gets so excited to be around them. He knows the colors yellow (lellow) and blue. He helps flip the laundry and squeegees the shower in our bathroom. He can pee on the potty and knows how to put on his shoes. He loves his playscape he can climb to the top, loves sliding down the slide and steering the ship. He will push swings (with no one in them) and say 'wwweeeee'

Goodbye Busleigh Castle

We moved! We sold the house we lived in for almost nine years and have moved to Austin. We are closer to town, have more space, and trees in our yard. I thought I would be a little more sad to leave the house we spent so much time in. Where we brought Tyler home to and made our home for such a long time, it was a great place for us but I think we were all ready. I think Tyler's mural on his wall is the thing I will really miss. Here's Tyler kissing this place goodbye!

So Far Behind!

We have been very busy the last few months. I am going to try and get this up to date as much as I can. We had our house on the market and I didn't have a good computer to maintain this on. Sorry about that look for lots of exciting updates!

Pics from Sea World

Pictures from Sea World - San Antonio. Tyler loved it they have the toddler thing down so we all had a good time. He loved the water park part. We didn't make any shows - we attempted the sea lion show but T being a busy body boy we weren't there for long.
See the previous post for all the Elmo excitement but when we got to the car there was an Elmo doll in T's car seat. He was so thrilled. He hugged him and played with him for a good part of the journey to Port Aransas.
