Travis Birth Story

I am regrettably writing this when Travis is 14 months old but I guess it just goes to say two takes your time away and I wanted to give it adequate coverage versus a picture and two or three sentences so the delay continued to delay.

Travis was a scheduled c-section for 7 am on December 27th. The night before Will, Tyler, Nancy (Nanny) and I went to eat mexican food to I could gourde myself since I knew I wouldnt eat for another day and a half and lets be honest I am grumpy without food but especially after the eating schedule I took on while pregnant. My mom (Grandma) met us at the house and we prepared for the big day.

I honestly barely slept the night before. I was so nervous for meeting the new baby, how Tyler would adjust, how we would all adjust, I had to wake up at 4 am and if I don't what if they cant get me in until after the new year, what was next...

Will and I got there and got changed. We knew what to expect and waited. Will craving coffee but not wanting to have any because I couldn't (so sweet). I started having real contractions and they really hurt but no one seemed concerned because they would do the c-section soon enough - that really hurt!

The nurse addressed the fact that we didn't know the gender but she did and kept referring to TAF as a she and and before we went in Will said - its a girl for sure, but I was still hanging on a boy - neither of us cared happy and healthy was all we wanted.

This time everything happened so fast my spinal was done like a pro Will was by my head and before we knew it they said here comes the baby and he was there just that fast (with Tyler they said that and it was a few more minutes before he was out due to a large head, Tyler cleared the way for Travis). Dr. Cowan said 'baby's here man this baby has a lot of hair' urgh..... we were thinking its a boy or a girl would have been what he said upon pulling him out and then he said 'its a boy!' We were so happy. We were so thrilled to have another boy and seeing him we both said he looks exactly like Tyler - really identical in the first few hours.

Will went over with Travis and took great care of him while they did the normal stuff. He screamed his little lungs out the entire time and then one of the doctors or nurses said 'man is he a screamer they usually don't scream this long'. Dr Cowan said 'he's fine' and I knew he was.  Then Will walked him over to me and as soon as he was there he was quite, happy, content. He wanted his momma made my heart melt (as if it wasn't already). It was amazing. He was here, happy, healthy and a perfect little boy - we were so happy, thrilled, blessed. What an amazing experience.

And then Nanny took Tyler home and we tried to sleep as much as possible from there and we were further blessed by Grandma coming for four day following our arrival at home.  So grateful for the help, love and family.
