Bluebonnet Pictures

Since Tyler has been born (this is literrally) I have been excited about his first bluebonnet pictures. Nothing says 'I am from Texas' like a kiddo with bluebonnets. I even once made Will take the dogs out for pictures in the famous Texas flower (needless to say he thought I was nuts). None the less if it is ever in question as to whether or not the dogs lived in Texas, this is clearly proof.

Well as things go with kids it didn't turn out like I had hoped, several things went wrong. We had a drought and the bluebonnets were not the same ones I had invisioned over the last 7 months. They were small and low to the ground causing him to look down. Tyler had never been sat on the ground outside (very over protective parents). Well as you can imagine he was very interested in the dirt, the flowers and the grass and putting them all directly in his mouth..... couple this with Will's constant search and look out for snakes, bees and wasps and well you have quite the stressful event. Despite three attempts of good timing with naps and food he was always tired to top it off. Will had the great idea of taking Elmo to get him to look up and maybe smile, but now Elmo is covered in dirt (he likely needed a break anyhow, he now resides in the laundry room).

The photographer got some of him in the flowers but his curiosity kept him from looking at the camera and the tiredness kept away that super cute smile. I was bummed. Of course he still looks cute and I am not complaining, but I was expecting that smile that comes so easy and put it on a post card, this is Texas kind of event!

He has promised next year will be better. I still love the pictures and am so glad we got them. A special thanks to Dad for humoring me through all the attempts and doing everything he could think of to make it happen.
